When can a pimple patch help?
What kind of spot is a hydrocolloid patch for?
Plain hydrocolloid absorbs fluid at the skin's surface and provides a cover over an individual spot. It is most useful for surface-level spots that release fluid. A patch is not a treatment for every type of acne, and you should not squeeze or open a spot to make it ready for a patch.
Can a patch help me leave a spot alone?
A patch puts a physical cover between your fingers and the spot. That may help reduce touching while it is in place, but it does not treat persistent skin-picking behavior or the causes of acne.
What about a deep, painful pimple?
A surface cover does not replace care for deep, painful acne. Avoid squeezing it. If a deep spot persists or you develop several painful bumps, ask a qualified health professional about treatment.
Will a patch prevent future breakouts?
